Visionary Award

Visionary noun: a person who has clear ideas about what should happen or be done in the future. (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/visionary)

The CCCYCA Visionary Award was created in October 2014 at the annual general meeting. The purpose of the award was to honour and offer recognition to members of the child and youth care field who have made significant contributions to the growth and evolution of Canadian CYC practice, education and professional advancement. Recipients of this award would be acknowledged as having clearly expressed and acted on their support to practitioners, literature and professional CYC organizations in Canada.

The Visionary Award is given by the board of the Canadian Council.

National Child and Youth Care Award

The National Child and Youth Care Award brings forward a peer nominated individual who has a career that serves as an example to others of the best practices of a child and youth care professional.

The purpose of the CCCYCA Award Program is two fold:

  • To provide much deserved recognition to Child and Youth Care practitioners who have demonstrated outstanding skills, knowledge, advocacy on behalf of clients and dedication to the profession.
  • To hold out such role models to inspire others towards outstanding practice and to promote greater public awareness of the important work done by Child and Youth Care Practitioners.

This award program is not intended to be a contest. The CCCYCA believes that by profiling and highlighting the wonderful work being done by any deserving Child and Youth Care Practitioner, we bring recognition to us all and to our profession.

Nominations

Nominations come from within Provincial Child and Youth Care Associations (Member Associations), or individually from Council Members (all members of a provincial child and youth care association are members of Canadian Council) and must be forwarded to the Awards Committee via electronic nomination form prior to the national conference to qualify for the award to be announced in the next National.
